Firefighters in Hooksett were dispatched to a reported brush fire on Pine street around noon. First arriving companies found a large area in the back yard burning including a shed. The following below is the press Release issued by the Hooksett Fire Department:

Hooksett Firefighters responded to 16 Pine Street for outside fire with exposure to the house at 16 Pine Street. First arriving companies found a large area in the back yard burning including a shed. Firefighters made a quick attack to protect the house at 16 Pine Street. The fire consumed approx. ¼ acre and a shed located on the property. Allenstown Fire responded to the scene with a Engine and crew of 3. Manchester Fire provided station coverage while Hooksett crews were commited at the fire scene. The fire was caused by sparks from a non-permited fire. Hooksett Fire reminds the public to use caution with outside brush and cooking fires. All outside fires such as brush and cooking fires require a permit to burn in Hooksett and only approved materials can be burned. Treated wood, engineered wood and leaves are not approved for outside burning fires.
